About 5 year’s ago, a good friend of mine made me a great birthday present. It was the New York Times bestseller, “How Champions Think” written Dr. Bob Rotella, a world’s leading sports psychologist. I book everybody should read who want to achieve something great in life.
Dr. Bob Rotella has worked the most famous sports people, musicians and celebrities but also as a consultant to the world’s most famous companies, including General Electric, Ford, Coca-Cola and Merrill. He has devoted his life to helping people who want to be exceptional.
Dr. Rotella discovered that great achievers share many attitudes and attributes. Here is a short list of his findings:
1: Intense Optimism
2: A Confident Self-Image
3: Habits of Excellence
4: An Unwavering Commitment to Process
5: Single-Mindedness
6: Honest Evaluation
7: Resilience
In a nutshell: Working hard is the bare minimum. Working hard only doesn’t guarantee success. Long hours are just a starting point. The biggest struggle is within somebody. Anything causing to prepare less meticulously or execute less perfectly is a hindrance. Success is determined by extra-ordinary vision, will, focus, striving and resilience.
