Set obtainable goals

There are 4 straight forward steps to follow to achieve your goals:

1. Make sure your goals are doable but challenging enough that you will feel satisfied.

2. Determine whether you need to learn anything new in order to achieve your goals. If you do, then determine the habits of learning that will bring you new knowledge or skills. If you already have the knowledge and skills, then determine the actions you’ll need to take to achieve your goals.

3. Determine what the regular, daily habits are that will enable you to take those steps and overcome those challenges.

4. Identify the first action you need to take and when and where you’ll take it. This makes it about three times as likely that you’ll actually reach your goals.

If you follow these steps, you have a much better chance to reach your goals. Even if you don’t reach the specific goal in the specific time frame you’ve planned for, you’ll be much closer to it. Reaching your goals is one of the best satisfactions in life.
