While writing this, a Bitcoin is trading above ~7,5000. Investors, for who Bitcoin is a new product often see the price of Bitcoin and think that one whole Bitcoin is much too expensive to invest in. But, one of the biggest benefits of Bitcoin being a digital asset as opposed to a physical one is that it’s easily divisible. In fact, Bitcoin can be divided as far as to 8 decimal places, so it’s possible to hold as little as 0.00000001 BTC. This smallest unit is known as a “Satoshi” after Bitcoin’s so far unknown creator and allows investors to put any dollar denomination they want into this leading cryptocurrency.
