Google Trends: Bitcoin searches have increased

Bitcoin (BTC) has sparked fresh interest from mainstream consumers. According to data from Google Trends, keywords searches for “Bitcoin” and other Bitcoin associated terms have increased over the past weeks.
Geographically, the top 5 sources are: Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Austria and Switzerland.
The term “Bitcoin halving” is a favourite. The Bitcoin halving event, scheduled for May 2020, is widely considered as a catalyst for markets, with multiple analysts predicting a new parabolic bullish phase beginning after or just before the halving.
Volatility most likely continues as the halving approaches. But unlike the previous two halving events, 2020 is different, with Bitcoin approaching from a bearish perspective.
Interesting to know: Google keyword searches meanwhile appear exclusive for Bitcoin. Other searches for altcoin cryptos such as “Ethereum,” “ETH” and “XRP,” have stayed flat in recent weeks.
