A new report from financial services company Mastercard highlights the world’s top destinations. With nearly 23 Mio. overnight visitors, Bangkok has the most tourists the 4th year in a row, according to Mastercard’s annual Global Destination Cities Index, which ranks 200 cities on overnight visitors.
Paris and London took 2nd and 3rd place, while Dubai and Singapore complete the top 5. Only one U.S. city, New York, made the list of the top 20 most popular cities in 7th sport. Cities in the Asia-Pacific region dominate much of the list because of the growth of travellers from mainland China.

8. Istanbul, Turkey: 13.40 million
9. Tokyo, Japan: 12.93 million
