Since 1989, Switzerland’s IMD business school has published the World Competitiveness Yearbook, which ranks the world’s leading 64 economies based on more than 330 criteria that measure different areas of competitiveness.
The World’s Top 10 rankings in 2021:
1. Switzerland
2. Sweden
3. Denmark
4. The Netherlands
5. Singapore
6. Norway
7. Hong Kong
8. Taiwan
9. United Arab Emirates
10. USA
Switzerland has come out on top for the first time in the survey’s 33-year history. Sweden came second, with Denmark in third. Completing the top five were the Netherlands and Singapore, which tumbled from the No. 1 spot it held the previous two years.
